Free and itinerant, the 2026 Amazon Comics Circuit kicks off in Manaus in late March, linking artists and readers across seven Amazonian cities.
Following a successful debut in 2025, the initiative returns bigger and bolder. This season spans seven cities in a collaborative network that brings together established festivals and new comics fairs — forming an unprecedented cultural circuit across the Amazon region.
The journey starts in Manaus
The opening event runs March 27–29 with the National Comics Week of Manaus. The circuit then travels through Boa Vista (RR), Parintins (AM), Belém (PA), Palmas (TO), and Macapá (AP), before crossing an international border to reach Maripasoula, in French Guiana, with the Mapa Buku Festi — bringing pan-Amazonia into the fold for the first time.
Programming for every audience
Each stop offers a rich lineup: panel discussions and lectures on the publishing market, hands-on workshops for children, teens, and adults, and the Artists’ Fair — the beating heart of each event, where audiences buy comics and original art directly from the creators.
The exchange between local, regional, and national guests is central to the circuit’s identity. This cross-pollination benefits industry professionals and first-time comics readers alike.
Decentralizing Brazil’s comics scene
The Amazon Comics Circuit was built with a clear mission: to shift Brazil’s editorial spotlight away from the southeast and give Amazonian comic artists the visibility they deserve on the national stage.
The Circuit promotes the circulation of knowledge and professionalism, ensuring that Amazonian production takes its rightful place in the Brazilian comics market.
