The Apresenta Summit 2025, held on November 24 at the Fairmont Copacabana, arrives at a historic moment for the event industry in Rio de Janeiro and across Brazil. The entertainment sector continues to expand, generating jobs, moving billions and positioning the country as a global reference in the experience economy.

Leadership and purpose
The Association of Event Promoters of the Entertainment Sector (APRESENTA), chaired by Bernardo Amaral and led by executive director Pedro Guimarães, organizes the Summit with the mission of strengthening Rio de Janeiro as the State of Entertainment and reinforcing Brazil’s role as a global leader.
“The Apresenta Summit 2025 will gather major names to discuss topics that directly affect our sector’s present and future. We expect around 500 participants and aim to strengthen the network that drives entertainment and culture,” says Pedro Guimarães.
Economic impact and expansion
The Summit highlights the transformative power of the event industry, which connects brands, professionals and audiences. According to ABRAPE, the culture and entertainment segment generated R$ 68 billion between January and June 2025, the highest result since the beginning of the data series in 2019.
Brazil has around 600,000 companies in the event chain, responsible for more than 5.5 million jobs. In Rio de Janeiro alone, the sector includes 1.3 million professionals, generates R$ 20 billion in wages and R$ 10 billion in local taxes.
Recent major events demonstrate this impact. Carnival 2025 generated R$ 5 billion, with 98.6% hotel occupancy. New Year’s Eve 2024/2025 generated R$ 3.2 billion, while Rock in Rio injected nearly R$ 2.9 billion into the state economy. Lady Gaga’s concert gathered 2.1 million people and moved R$ 600 million. The Rio Marathon 2023 generated R$ 137.2 million.
Tourism and infrastructure
This momentum is reinforced by advances in infrastructure and connectivity. Improved national and international air routes expand Rio’s presence in global tourism. According to Embratur, Brazil received 7.1 million international tourists between January and September 2025, surpassing the National Tourism Plan’s annual target.
