Brazil and Italy align for the energy transition

Event in Rio gathers experts from Brazil and Italy to discuss innovation, regulation, and financing in the global energy transition.

The Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CCIE-RJ) will host the event “Energy Transition and Competitiveness: Paths for Sustainable Development” on March 17, at Edifício Argentina in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro. The meeting will explore the main challenges and opportunities of the energy transition in Brazil, focusing on international cooperation and financing tools for sustainable projects.

Speakers include Pietro Adamo (ANP) and Francesco Moliterni (Enel), along with representatives from BNDES and Finep. According to CCIE-RJ president Renata Novotny, this is a strategic moment for the sector. “Brazil needs to advance in methods and innovation strategies in the energy transition. Clean energy will be at the core of global discussions,” she said.

Panels on innovation and financing

The first panel, “Energy Transition in Practice: Strategies, Innovation, and Business Cases,” will be led by Marcello Leone, an expert in renewable energy and founder of Sole Consulting. Among participants are Francesco Moliterni (Enel Distribuição Rio), Vicenzo Torregrossa (2M Group), and Priscila Fracari (MJV Technology & Innovation).

The second panel, “Financing the Energy Transition: Instruments, Incentives, and Opportunities,” will be moderated by Júlio Vieira (UFF). Speakers include Giovanni Conio (SACE), Guilherme Arantes (BNDES), and Paulo José Pereira (Finep), who will address credit mechanisms and innovation incentives for sustainable growth.
