For the first time, the coastal city of Cabo Frio will host one of Rio de Janeiro’s most beloved street food events. The Feira Nacional do Podrão — now in its 36th edition — arrives at the parking lot of Shopping Park Lagos, in the Palmeiras neighborhood, from April 18 to 21 (Saturday through Tuesday), daily from 2 PM to 10 PM. Admission is free.

Set across approximately 4,000 square meters, the fair will bring together around 30 food vendors, each offering oversized, creative, and flavor-packed street bites that have become legends in Rio’s food scene.

What’s on the Menu

Two newcomers are generating buzz this year: the Coxinha na Chapa (griddled coxinha) and the Picolé de Coxinha (coxinha popsicle). Alongside them, the fan-favorite classics return in full force.

The Organizers’ Vision

We are very happy to bring the Feira Nacional do Podrão to the Região dos Lagos for the very first time. We want to provide a complete experience for the people of Cabo Frio — a major food event with attractions for the whole family during the holiday weekend.

The words belong to Suzanne Malta, the project’s founder and producer, known for her food-focused Instagram profile @ondecomernorio, working alongside producer Filipe Machado.

Shopping Park Lagos Marketing Manager Valéria Zettel highlighted what the event means for the venue’s identity.

Events of this scale, held across Brazil, consolidate Shopping Park Lagos as one of the main leisure and entertainment spaces in the Região dos Lagos. Our mall is much more than a shopping center. It is a meeting point for residents and tourists who seek varied programming, comfort, and safety.

Live Music and Family Fun

The entertainment lineup matches the scale of the food. Samba and pagode sessions featuring James and the group D’Início will keep the energy high, while rock fans can enjoy tribute band Mamonas Assassinas (cover) and Protocolo B, both delivering classics from the 80s and 90s.

A dedicated kids’ zone will feature monitored activities and inflatables, including a mechanical bull, giant slide, discoplay, inflatable crocodile, and a trampoline.
