On Sunday (15), starting at 1 PM, Rio’s most traditional Zona Norte samba gathering returns for its 148th edition, featuring Renato da Rocinha and six more acts.
A tradition that keeps on going
The 148th Feijoada do Cacique de Ramos takes place this Sunday, March 15, from 1 PM onward, with free admission. Held every third Sunday of the month, the event has long established itself as one of the most beloved samba gatherings in Rio de Janeiro’s Zona Norte.
The recreational club — already with its lineup confirmed for the 2027 season — keeps its venue at Rua Uranos, 1326, in Olaria, as a reference point for authentic Rio samba culture.
Renato da Rocinha headlines a strong lineup
The star of this edition, Renato da Rocinha, is a singer and songwriter widely regarded as one of the most important names in samba today. Joining him are Jorge Alexandre, Margarete Mendes, Grupo Caciqueando, Grupo Quintal do Cacique, Grupo Biguá, and Grupo BB do Estuário.
The samba circle runs through the afternoon and evening, wrapping up at 11 PM.
Women’s Month celebrated on stage
Throughout the day, visitors can explore the Cacique Memory Center, watch performances by the Cortes Curumim and Glória Caciqueana, and mingle with members of the Alas Reunidas, keeping the Carnival spirit alive in honor of Women’s Month.
The flag-bearer’s dance will once again parade the club’s banner across the Doce Refúgio stage.
Food and drinks all day long
The classic feijoada — Brazil’s iconic black bean and pork stew — is prepared in-house and served at lunch for R$ 35.00 per plate. A barbecue buffet follows in the afternoon, and as evening sets in, the menu shifts to appetizers, broths, and soups. Tables can be rented on site.
