State Park Cantareira celebrates 63 years with 30th Night Walk on Jan 31 at Horto Florestal and Cantareira Parks. Features time capsule, tree planting, plus free kids’ guided tours.
Horto Florestal Park hosts a special edition of the Night Walk on January 31. This event honors the 63 years of Cantareira State Park, a key Atlantic Forest remnant in an urban area.
Day-to-night forest immersion
Activities start at 3:45 PM at the ground floor of the Forest Museum. Expert guides lead groups until 9 PM. Attendees craft a 2026 time capsule with wishes and plant native seedlings.
The trail reaches Pedra Grande Nucleus. A 1,010-meter viewpoint provides São Paulo’s panoramic views. The park safeguards 7,900 hectares of Atlantic Forest, UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1994.
Horto for Kids in January
The park also runs “Horto for Kids” on January 10, 14, 21, and 24. Free guided tours target children aged 6-10, from 3 PM to 3:45 PM.
Tours highlight wildlife, plants, and outdoor play. Educators deliver fun lessons on biodiversity.
