The Caravana Energia da Cultura 2026 offers free workshops, mentorships and online classes across five Brazilian states and the Federal District.
Brazil’s Caravana Energia da Cultura 2026 has opened registrations for a full cycle of free cultural training aimed at artists, producers and cultural managers in the country’s interior. The program reaches São Paulo, Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and the Federal District, combining in-person workshops in 10 cities with online activities available to all participants across the five territories.
The initiative is carried out through Brazil’s Lei Rouanet cultural incentive law, with sponsorship from Neoenergia, in partnership between the Instituto Neoenergia and the Cultura e Mercado platform. Its core goal is to decentralize cultural resources and strengthen creative production in regions historically excluded from public funding.
Growth from previous editions
In 2024 and 2025, the Caravana directly reached 790 people across eight interior cities, delivering 224 hours of training. The 2026 edition marks a significant expansion with the addition of Pernambuco as the fifth territory covered by the project.
“In 2026, the Caravana Energia da Cultura expands its reach to include Pernambuco, now covering five territories and strengthening cultural training beyond state capitals. This expansion follows a process of listening and analyzing previous editions to improve methodology, maintaining in-person activities while expanding online actions. The Caravana is a collective construction and a process of continuous improvement, based on evaluative intelligence and knowledge of the territories, which allows for increasingly consistent action.” — Larissa Biasoli, general coordinator of the project
Four training tracks
The 2026 calendar is organized around four complementary tracks. In-person workshops, scheduled for June and July, will take place in 10 interior cities: Limeira and Itanhaém (SP), Camaragibe and Garanhuns (PE), São Gonçalo do Amarante and Caicó (RN), Simões Filho and Santo Antônio de Jesus (BA), Samambaia and Taguatinga (DF). Each session runs six hours and accommodates up to 60 participants.
In the second half of the year, between August and September, groups of up to 100 participants per state will take part in 12 hours of live online classes covering cultural management, fundraising, local opportunities and the integration of environmental issues in cultural projects. Participants who attend at least 75% of sessions receive a certificate. Recorded classes by specialists will also be made freely available on YouTube for audiences across Brazil.
Topics span the full range of cultural work: project development and management, access to funding mechanisms such as the Lei Rouanet and the National Aldir Blanc Policy (PNAB), communication, innovation and the professionalization of cultural workers.
Inclusion and local talent
The Caravana prioritizes accessibility and the participation of cisgender women, trans women and Black women. The project actively values local professionals — producers, researchers and facilitators — who work alongside the national team. All registrations and networking among participants are handled through the digital platform Cult_B (https://cultb.art/).
“Decentralizing resources and actions through initiatives like the Caravana Energia da Cultura is a way to give space and voice to diverse cultural expressions, artistic forms and traditional legacies that deserve their opportunity.” — Renata Chagas, president and CEO of Instituto Neoenergia
