A free holiday camp in Caju starts Jan 19 with 50 spots a day and culture-packed activities for kids and teens aged 6 to 14.
From January 19 to 30, Favela Mundo Project—run by the NGO Favela Mundo—hosts ten mornings designed for play, movement, and imagination. The schedule blends dance, music, theater, and games, offering an upbeat option during Brazil’s school break.
Activities take place at Ciep Henfil in Caju, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. There are 50 openings per day for children and teens aged 6 to 14.
How to register
Registration is done on-site, 30 minutes before the activities begin. Because spots are limited, arriving early is recommended.

Focused on citizenship and social inclusion through culture, the NGO has impacted more than 13,000 children and young people in Rio de Janeiro communities. All activities are free of charge.
Sponsors and support
The Favela Mundo Project is sponsored by the City of Rio de Janeiro and the Municipal Department of Culture, along with Rio Brasil Terminal, Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott hotels, SmartFit, Operadora Pallas, Diverticidade, Fairmont Hotel, and Jataí, through the Municipal Culture Incentive Law (ISS Tax Law).
