Art event in Formosa spotlights contemporary artists and positions Goiás as a cultural and creative hub.
A celebration of Central-Western art and identity
The opening night of the 1st Itiquira Contemporary Art Salon, held on November 18, honored visual artists who reinterpret and promote Central-West Brazilian culture. Taking place at the Fundação Museu Couros in Formosa (GO), the event featured a vernissage and cocktail reception with members of the press, authorities, and art enthusiasts. The exhibition remains open to the public until December 17, with free admission.
Awards and artistic highlights
Fifteen independent artists were selected to create works inspired by the historical and contemporary richness of the region, exploring themes of identity and sustainability. The winners—Bruno Romi, Bruna Brom, and Dalton Camargos—each received an R$4,000 acquisition award, and their pieces will become part of the salon’s permanent collection.
“Beyond showcasing creativity and passion for Central-Western culture, this opening night redefined the way visual arts are perceived in Brazil, revealing essential new talents for the national scene,” said cultural producer and event creator Leo Matos.
Accessibility and inclusion through art
The Itiquira Salon champions inclusive access to contemporary art. All exhibited works feature audio description and Braille, ensuring a fully accessible experience for visitors with visual impairments.
