OAB Duque de Caxias holds free lecture with Renato Noguera on African philosophy and Black consciousness.
On November 17, 2025, at 4 p.m., the OAB Duque de Caxias promotes the event “African Philosophy and Black Consciousness: Antiracism and Counter-Colonial Justice”. The activity is part of the institution’s Black November programming and will take place at the subsection’s headquarters on Rua Dr. Ubiratan Marques, 312-370, Jardim Vinte e Cinco de Agosto.
The lecture features professor Renato Noguera, a leading national figure in African philosophy and decolonial studies. The discussion addresses structural racism, identity reconstruction and the role of counter-colonial justice in building a fair and plural society.
The event offers a space for dialogue and learning, aimed at law students, professionals and community members interested in Black consciousness and human rights.
About the speaker
Renato Noguera holds a PhD in Philosophy from UFRJ and is a professor at UFRRJ, working in graduate programs in Philosophy and Education. A researcher at Leafro and coordinator of the Afrosin group, he is the author of works such as “Ensino de Filosofia e a Lei 10.639”, “Porque amamos” and “O que é o luto”, exploring intersections between philosophy, education, neuroscience and anthropology.
