After pandemic hiatus and stints in São José do Rio Preto, this nearly 20-year event heads home. Votuporanga’s Economic Development Secretary eyes gains in lodging, food, retail, and services through Carnival week.

Economic Boom Reshapes the City

Locals call it an early “Christmas.” Hotels with 1,000 beds hit 95% occupancy. Vacation rentals like Luan Henrique Santana Rui’s chácara triple rates, filling with out-of-towners from Mato Grosso do Sul.

The Oba Festival‘s return to Votuporanga means more than cultural revival. Economically, it extends beyond party days, cementing our spot on the national tourism map.

Says Economic Secretary José Nelson Chino Bolotário. Shops extend hours. Hotel staffing could jump 70%, per the local workers’ union. Retail buzzes with optimism.

Like Barretos Rodeo on Steroids

Votuporanga mirrors Barretos’ Festa do Peão surge. Oba Festival 2026 runs February 14-16, starring Claudia Leitte, Wesley Safadão, Léo Santana, Lauana Prado, Dennis DJ, Banda Eva, Kamisa 10, Batom na Cueca, MC Hariel, Monobloco, and Veigh.
