Red Bull Rabiscada’s National Final lands at Circo Voador on Feb 28 — free entry, live voting, and crews from Rio and Belo Horizonte competing.
Brazil’s first trio Passinho battle goes national
Red Bull Rabiscada — Brazil’s first-ever trio Passinho competition — returns for its second edition on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Starting at 6 PM, the Circo Voador in Rio de Janeiro’s Lapa neighborhood hosts the National Final, with free admission for all. Tickets must be reserved in advance at redbull.com/rabiscada.
The event celebrates Passinho, the funk-rooted street dance officially recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the State of Rio de Janeiro and already celebrated on international stages. This edition marks a major milestone: for the first time, crews from Belo Horizonte join the competition.
Who’s competing
Eight trios take the stage. As Faixas Rosa and Os Amantes da Dança qualified through the Belo Horizonte qualifier held in January. The final Rio spots will be decided on February 27 at Visão Vidigal (starting at 4 PM), in a wildcard qualifier open to the public.
Also competing are the reigning champions Reis da Dança, runners-up Os Fabulosos, and two special guests: Bonde das Oncinhas and Arrasta o Pé.
How the battle works
The competition runs across three rounds: a free-style entry, a collective choreography segment, and a high-BPM finale that tests each trio’s speed and adaptability. The format rewards not just technical skill, but also stage presence and crowd connection.
What makes Red Bull Rabiscada unique is its dual judging system — a panel of expert judges scores the trios alongside a live audience vote, making the crowd an active part of the competition.
“Red Bull Rabiscada is the first-ever trio Passinho battle, and that strengthens the group because you play as a team. In one of the rounds, the BPM shifts — that challenges versatility and the competitors’ ability to adapt. On top of that, the audience is also a judge, meaning dancers need to be technically sharp for the panel while also winning the crowd’s hearts. That’s what makes it so special — everyone is actively part of it. And now, with BH in the mix, the competition expands to funk in its full dimension.” — Severo IDD, event curator and Passinho reference from Rio de Janeiro
Rio meets BH on the same stage
The inclusion of Belo Horizonte crews signals more than geographic expansion — it’s a cultural dialogue. While Passinho in Rio carries decades of history and heritage status, in Minas Gerais it takes on a distinct identity: faster footwork, regional style, and a thriving underground scene driven by local crews and social media battles. The National Final brings both worlds together under one roof.
Baile da Kenner closes the night
After the competition wraps, the night keeps going with the Baile da Kenner — an after-party powered by Kenner (Grupo S2), the event’s official brand partner. DJ Iasmin Turbininha takes the decks, with live shows from Oz Crias and Trilogia do Santo Amaro.
