Stories created by children and teenagers reach the big screen through the Itinerant Film Showcase of the Images in Movement Program. After editions in Bahia and Espírito Santo, the event arrives in Rio de Janeiro on December 5, at 9:30 a.m., at Cine Carioca José Wilker. The screening includes short films produced by students from Japan, Bulgaria and several Brazilian cities.

The PIM is an initiative by the NGO Raiar, which has offered free cinema workshops in public schools for 15 years, encouraging critical thinking and youth protagonism.

The project is part of the international network Cinema, One Hundred Years of Youth, created in France in 1995. In 2025, the “À Nous Le Cinéma!” meeting took place at Sorbonne Nouvelle University with participation from Brazilian students.

According to director Ana Dillon, the experience strengthens creativity, teamwork and expressive abilities.

Diversity of themes

The Rio films include “Axé, Iara”, about religious intolerance; “A New Beginning”, about friendship; and “Collapse”, addressing family conflicts.

Other works include “Recycling” from Vitória, “Offline” and “From the Bridge This Way” from Macaé, and “Different Destinies” from Cumuruxatiba.

Expansion and impact

Over 15 years, the program has benefited nearly three thousand students and produced 229 films. In Rio, the PIM is sponsored by Telecine, Multiterminais, Veirano Advogados and Paschoalin.
