Workshop “From Pixel Art to Cross-Stitch” takes place on December 6 at POW Festival 2025 with textile artist Thais Trisltz.
The connection between digital and handmade creation takes center stage at POW Festival 2025 with the workshop “From Pixel Art to Cross-Stitch”, led by textile artist Thais Trisltz. The activity invites participants to explore new visual possibilities by merging technology, color and manual tradition.
After the success of last year’s edition, Thais returns with a proposal that blends the pixel art universe, known for its geometric precision, with the classic technique of cross-stitch. The workshop transforms references from pop culture, cinema, games, music and even Renaissance paintings into embroidered compositions, reinterpreting digital imagery through a handmade lens.
Held on Saturday, December 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the activity encourages participants to create their own designs and turn them into original embroidered works. The proposal highlights embroidery as a contemporary form of artistic expression.
“It is always very special to see embroidery occupying innovative spaces like POW. Many people see it as something outdated, but here we show the opposite: it is a living language that interacts with digital culture and inspires new forms of expression,” says Thais, who has worked in textile arts for over ten years.
The workshop is part of the POW Festival 2025 program, held on December 6 and 7 at A Fábrica in Ribeirão Preto. The event features creative gatherings, talks, performances, interventions, music shows, gastronomic experiences and a creative fair that highlights art, technology and innovation.
Participation is free upon pre-registration on powfestival.com.br. Festival admission must also be secured in advance. The organization notes that pre-registration does not guarantee a spot, as participation will follow a first-come, first-served system with no reservations.
