POW Festival hosts a free lightsaber combat workshop on December 6 and 7 in Ribeirão Preto.
In the Star Wars universe, the lightsaber symbolizes values and purpose. This essence inspires the Lightsaber Combat Workshop at the POW Festival, which presents movement and body expression techniques for participants aged 11 and older. The activity is part of the program on December 6 and 7 at A Fábrica in Ribeirão Preto.
According to Rodrigo Carlomagno, Head of Institutional Projects at Instituto SEB, “The initiative reinforces the festival’s mission to bring pop culture closer to educational and in-person experiences, connecting fans, newcomers and creativity enthusiasts in an environment of exchange, discovery and interaction”.
The workshop will take place in four sessions over two days and will be led by Rodrigo Moreno, radiologist, graduate professor and founder of the Blades Saber Team. For over 15 years, he has researched choreographic construction and body discipline applied to stage combat.
Participants learn posture, defense and attack fundamentals, as well as exercises that stimulate focus and body awareness. The experience brings imagination closer to practice, presenting the hero’s journey in an accessible way.
The activity is part of the POW Festival 2025 program, held on December 6 and 7 in Ribeirão Preto, featuring creative meetings, talks, performances, interventions, concerts, gastronomic activities and a creative fair. Participation is free with pre-registration at powfestival.com.br. Event tickets must be downloaded in advance.
