Event gathers 120 craft beer labels, rock concerts and a contest to award the best beers in Rio State from December 5 to 7.
From December 5 to 7, Shopping Nova América in Rio’s North Zone becomes the stage for an unforgettable celebration. The Rock 80 Festival – Year-End 2025 joins forces with the Beer Festival Rio de Janeiro for three days of live music, culture and craft brewing, featuring over 120 beer labels and a cultural contest to select the state’s top three brews.
Admission is free with a donation of 2 kg of non-perishable food. The event runs from noon to 11 p.m., bringing together families, music lovers and beer enthusiasts for a lively and inclusive celebration.
Rock, beer and history
Hosted at the iconic Shopping Nova América, the festival celebrates a space that blends industrial past and modern culture. Once one of Rio’s largest textile factories, the mall now serves as a symbol of reinvention, marking its 30th anniversary in 2025.
“With its mix of history and innovation, Nova América is a perfect venue for live events. Celebrating our 30th anniversary with such a festival is truly special,” says Marketing Manager Alisson Mori.
Music and culture
The lineup features tributes to world and Brazilian rock icons from the 1980s to 2000s, including performances by Helena de Troia Rock, Capitão Sibéria, The Red Pilot, Brigitte Merlot, Cognição, Tributo 85, Metal Priest, Crows, Blue Marinho, Dante Rock of C., DRF and Conexão 80.
In addition to music and beer, visitors can enjoy food, fashion and craft stalls, reinforcing the festival’s focus on creative economy and support for independent entrepreneurs.
“Rock 80 Festival is more than a music event; it builds bridges between artists and audiences, boosts local business and celebrates Rio’s vibrant culture,” says founder Fernando Fernandes.
