Free festival unites rock, food and solidarity on November 15 and 16 at Praça Marechal Deodoro.
Praça Marechal Deodoro, next to Praça Paris in Glória, will host the first edition of the Rock 80 Festival on November 15 and 16. The free event celebrates the best of 1980s and 1990s rock, featuring shows, diverse cuisine, craft beers and fun for the whole family.
Admission is free with a donation of 2 kg of non-perishable food, which will be given to local social projects. Full schedule available on Instagram @rock80festival.
Two days of music and nostalgia

Sunday’s lineup
On Sunday (16), the original sound of Banheiro Azul opens the day. Then, Poppy Fields Oficial performs songs by David Bowie, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Amy Winehouse and Pitty. Atlanta Rocks follows with Cazuza, Plebe Rude, Uns e Outros, Capital Inicial and Ira!.
The grunge vibe continues with BSB MTV, a tribute to Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Alice In Chains, Silverchair and Foo Fighters. The festival closes with A Conexão 80, celebrating hits by Skank, RPM, Plebe Rude and Capital Inicial.
Gastronomy and solidarity
Beyond music, the event offers a full gastronomic area with snacks, burgers, pizzas, barbecue, craft beers and wines. The highlight is the Sommelier Experience, featuring more than 20 wine labels from Casa del Bosque, Perez Cruz, Cuesta del Madero, Encosta de Alqueva, Santa Ema and Domaine Bousquet.
Over 120 craft beer options will be available. Among them, Farra Bier joins Macieira BBQ to present the Camarim Rockstar, an exclusive area for artists and guests with a seaside barbecue experience.
The festival also features a kids’ area and local vendors’ stalls, emphasizing its community-driven spirit.
“We want to bring musical entertainment to the whole city and revive the spirit of street festivals that have always been part of Rio’s soul,” says Fernando Fernandes, creator of Rock 80 Festival.
