Running on January 30–31 and February 1, the festival turns the page after marking 25 years as one of Brazil’s longest-running pop culture events.

Sana 2026: from fan meetup to creative hub

Launched in 2001 by 15 friends, Sana began as a gathering for anime, gaming, and Japanese culture fans.

Over the years, it evolved into a multi-format festival bringing together cosplayers, artists, content creators, tournaments, concerts, and immersive experiences.

Economic impact and social commitment

Across its history, the festival has welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors and generated around R$500 million for the local economy.

Each edition creates roughly 2,900 direct and indirect jobs, with half of the positions filled by women and by Black, Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ people.

“Since the first edition, Sana has grown alongside its audience. Today, we keep innovating to stay relevant, accessible, and connected to the shifts in geek culture and the creative economy,” says Ricardo Busgaib, Sana’s director and founder.

Confirmed guests at Sana 2026 (Part 1)

On the music side, Di Ferrero performs on Saturday, January 31, featuring hits from his solo work and NX Zero classics.

Internationally, actor Jack Gleeson—known worldwide as King Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones—joins fan sessions and special activities on Sunday, February 1.

Also confirmed are Clive Standen, who played Rollo in Vikings, and Lucy Martin, who portrays Queen Ingrid.

Beyond celebrity panels, the program includes geek sculptures, themed rooms, cosplay and K-pop competitions, a gaming arena, the Art&Fest stage, and a shopping area with exclusive products.

With fans traveling in from multiple regions, Fortaleza is set to become a major Brazilian geek-culture hotspot once again.
