Monja Coen, Lilia Schwarcz, Milton Hatoum, and Roberto DaMatta lead the lineup of the Fronteiras Festival at Parque da Água Branca.
The Fronteiras São Paulo Festival 2026 is set to become one of Brazil’s most ambitious cultural gatherings. More than 60 leading thinkers will meet on March 7 and 8 at Parque da Água Branca to discuss technology, identity, media, spirituality, and the challenges of being human in an age of constant transformation.
The festival marks the 20th anniversary of the Fronteiras do Pensamento platform and is presented by Porto, with sponsorship from PWC and Paper Excellence, and support from Fleury. Its mission: to turn thought into live experience.
Across four simultaneous stages and more than 40 panels, Brazilian voices like Christian Dunker, Mary del Priore, Luiz Felipe Pondé, Rachel Maia, Ronaldo Lemos, and Martha Gabriel will share their ideas. Curator Rodrigo Santanna describes it as a space “to sustain complex conversations in an age of noise and polarization.”
The event also presents immersive exhibitions dedicated to Vincent van Gogh and Frida Kahlo, adapted from global shows with high-definition projections and sensory soundscapes. Entry is free and open to the public.
Visitors can enjoy a Food Park featuring local favorites like Bullguer, Bacio di Latte, and Carole Crema Sobremesas, alongside a Book Fair curated by Livraria Travessa. The weekend also includes musical performances led by conductor Ricardo Calderoni.
On March 8, the International Women’s Day programming will feature an all-female lineup, including Fernanda Mena, Lilia Schwarcz, Ana Maria Machado, and Miriam Leitão.
“We want to provoke unlikely encounters and show that ideas belong to everyday life,” says executive director Rodrigo Santanna.
The Fronteiras São Paulo Festival reaffirms Brazil’s creative and intellectual vitality, offering an open and plural space for reflection, connection, and the reimagining of the human experience.
