Teatro da Ilha inaugurates its Christmas Tree with a Joanna concert and special year-end programming.
A unique moment to enjoy with family and friends, marked by affection and lasting memories. Teatro da Ilha inaugurates its first Christmas Tree on November 27, with programming that begins at 8 p.m. featuring singer Joanna.
Known for unforgettable Brazilian songs, Joanna will perform classics such as “Amanhã Talvez”, “Momentos” and “Tô Fazendo Falta”. At 9:30 p.m., the 15-meter-tall Christmas Tree of Ilha do Governador will be officially presented.
Admission will be granted upon donation of a toy with a minimum value of R$ 40, with receipt presented at the box office. The initiative is held in partnership with RioSolidario and subject to venue capacity.
Christmas concert
On Friday, the 28th, the Starlight Concerts Project presents two sessions at 8 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., with the show “Starlight Concerto de Natal”. The project transforms classical music into a multisensory experience through light and sound.
With a quartet formed by musicians from renowned São Paulo orchestras, the show brings traditional Christmas songs such as “Noite Feliz”, “Adeste Fideles” and “Jingle Bells”, reimagined with innovative arrangements.

A milestone for culture in Rio
With 120 years of history, Light has long contributed to the development of Rio de Janeiro, supporting initiatives that strengthen the cultural and social landscape. The new Teatro da Ilha is made possible through corporate sponsorship via the State Cultural Incentive Law.
Located on Estrada do Galeão, the venue becomes a cultural hub in the North Zone, offering diverse programming ranging from theater and music to comedy, dance and more. The theater has 700 seats and features renowned artists including Marcos Veras, Cia. Os Melhores do Mundo, Fábio Porchat, Rafael Portugal, Yuri Marçal and others.
The project is led by cultural producer Rômulo Sales, who has over 20 years of experience and founded Teatro Nova Iguaçu Petrobras. With this initiative, Light reinforces its commitment to energy, culture and social transformation.
