Inspired by the World Marathon Majors, Mega Finisher rewards runners who finish races in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay with the exclusive Mega Legend medal.Every serious marathoner knows the Six Star Medal — awarded to those who complete the world’s six most prestigious races across Japan, the United States, Germany, and England. Now, South America has its own version. The Mega Finisher Circuit brings together marathons and half-marathons across five continental capitals, offering a unique medal to runners who cross the finish line in all of them — at a fraction of the cost and distance from home.
Five capitals, one legendary medal
The circuit covers Montevideo (Uruguay), Lima (Peru), Asunción (Paraguay), Buenos Aires (Argentina), and Brasília (Brazil). Runners have up to five years to complete one race in each capital — either the full 42 km marathon or the 21 km half-marathon. Once all five are done, they earn the Mega Legend medal. Now in its second year, the circuit is driving a surge in sports tourism across the region. A recent Ticket Sports survey found that more than half of Brazilian runners who competed in 2025 traveled to at least one event outside their home city — a clear sign that athletes are increasingly combining competition with exploration.
Sub4 Turismo’s decade of expertise
Sub4 Turismo Esportivo has been guiding marathoners through these five capitals for over a decade. The agency offers curated packages with strategically located hotels, exclusive transfers, and on-the-ground support to reduce the fatigue of international travel — so athletes can focus entirely on their race.
“Mega Finisher is a regional answer to runners’ desire to belong to something bigger. It’s not just about running an isolated marathon — it’s about completing a cycle across South America’s major capitals. We’ve followed the growth of these events for over a decade. That’s why, since the circuit launched, we’ve been able to deliver an experience where the athlete focuses on their goal at each race, earns the special medal, and still gets to explore each city along the way.” — Henrique Farias, managing partner, Sub4 Turismo Esportivo
Farias also notes that many clients had already raced in these cities before the circuit existed. “Now, with the extra motivation of the Mega Legend medal, we’ve been bringing athletes back to close out their South American cycle,” he says.
2026 Race Calendar
The season opens with the Montevideo Marathon on May 10, followed by the Lima Marathon on May 24. The second half of the year features the Buenos Aires Half Marathon (August 23), the Asunción Marathon (August 30), and the Buenos Aires Marathon (September 20). The circuit closes with the Monumental Marathon of Brasília on November 21–22. Except for Buenos Aires — which hosts two separate events — all other races offer both the 42 km and 21 km distances as valid for the challenge.
