Blending 70s glamour and 90s rebellion, H&M unveils Salvage Heritage, the first Fall/Winter 26 chapter inspired by British creativity and style icons.
This new chapter reimagines the elegance of the 70s through the rebellious lens of the 90s. The result is a vibrant tribute to Brit Pop, London’s street culture, and the romantic decadence that defined an era of self-expression and creative revolution.
Under the title “Salvage Heritage”, the collection celebrates the art of reinterpreting the past. Argyles, plaids, and checkered patterns blend in striking overlays. The refined color palette features browns, burgundies, and neutrals with sporty pops of red and blue.
Historical romanticism meets lingerie-inspired sensuality, as lace slipdresses and flowing chiffon gowns contrast with grunge elements like barrel jeans and worn leather, capturing the spirit of 90s street style.
Highlights include an oversized aviator jacket with a detachable shearling collar and a zip-detailed faux leather skirt that feels both nostalgic and modern. Pleated skirts lead the way across silhouettes, easily paired with knit zip-tops or refined evening shirts.
Fur and leather textures appear in versatile vests and hooded jackets, while snake prints and furry details enrich accessories such as bags and belts. From tiny furry purses to oversized croc-effect totes and bowling bags, proportions play a key aesthetic role. Jewelry mixes vintage looks with ornate floral motifs.
“The mood is a playful eclecticism that references the iconic look and spirit of the 90s, when lace and sportswear lived side by side.” – Eliana Masgalos, Design Director, H&M
