Rio City Hall launches RIOFW Rio Fashion Week from April 15 to 18 2026 at Pier Mauá with 30 runway shows.
Rio City Hall officially launched RIOFW – Rio Fashion Week on Tuesday December 16 at the Palácio da Cidade, the municipal government headquarters.
The new fashion week will take place from April 15 to 18 2026 and will mark the return of major runway shows to the city, with a total of 30 shows.
The event becomes part of the Official Brazilian Fashion Calendar and will be held at Pier Mauá, in Rio’s port area.
Rio Fashion Week is born as a landmark for the national fashion industry and will bring together major brands and renowned industry names.
The initiative will boost the entire production and business chain, with an expected economic impact of more than R$ 200 million.
The event is also expected to generate around 8,000 direct and indirect jobs, driving the city’s creative economy.
RIOFW will bring together fashion, culture, gastronomy, wellness, music and personalities, offering the public an experience that goes beyond the catwalks.
On the social front, the proposal includes investments in training programs for young people to work in the fashion industry.
In addition, RIOFW has the potential to generate up to R$ 1 billion in spontaneous media for the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The goal is to project the image of the City and Brazilian fashion worldwide, reinforcing Rio’s leading role on the fashion scene.
