Brazilian label Ryzí debuts a collection inspired by “The Wizard of Oz”, blending artisanal design and Warner Bros cinematic heritage.
Known for its collectible and sculptural creations, Ryzí opens a new creative chapter with its first official collaboration with Warner Bros. The debut collection, themed after the film classic “The Wizard of Oz”, marks the beginning of a long-term licensing partnership that will extend through 2027.
Playful design and sustainable craftsmanship
“Bringing the Ryzí universe into this cinematic classic was like entering a new creative dimension. I’ve always seen our bags as leather sculptures — and in this collab, I wanted to transform the film’s symbols into collectible objects filled with humor, fantasy, and a playful soul,” says Luiza Mallmann, founder and creative director of the brand.
The capsule collection includes nine models of handbags and bag charms, all made from leather through upcycling processes. The project reinforces Ryzí’s commitment to sustainability and visual impact while translating the film’s iconic imagery into refined, collectible pieces.
Pieces inspired by the film’s symbols
Highlights include a vintage TV-shaped bag featuring a classic movie scene, a double-sided design that merges the Tin Man’s heart and the timepiece clock, and a book-shaped bag referencing the original novel. The signature Orime appears in silver with pink interior and black with green interior, while the Mystique bag gains rainbow-patterned hotfix embellishments.
Smaller accessories reinterpret beloved motifs from the story, such as the Wicked Witch’s hat, Glinda’s crown, and Dorothy’s ruby slippers, turning them into charming collectible pieces.
“Balancing the playful and the architectural, this collaboration captures the essence of Ryzí: wearable art pieces meant to be admired, worn, and collected,” concludes Mallmann.
Launch and availability
The Ryzí x The Wizard of Oz collection officially launches on November 6, available exclusively at ryzi.com.br and through a curated international selection on Farfetch. The partnership marks the start of a multi-title licensing contract with Warner Bros, uniting design, cinema, and artisanal craftsmanship in unique concept pieces.
