New Year’s Eve is, for many people, an opportunity for change and renewal. It is a moment to reflect on past choices and on the decisions that will guide the future.

Across celebrations throughout Brazil, the most common color is still white, traditionally associated with peace and harmony. This custom arose under strong influence from Afro-Brazilian religions such as umbanda and candomblé.

According to stylist Sandra Mazal, from the Rio-based brand Rio Summer, white continues to lead New Year’s Eve preferences. It was mentioned by 37% of those who plan to celebrate the turn of the year.

Other colors also appear among the choices of those who like to match their wishes to the symbolism of each shade. Blue, which represents tranquility and confidence in the future, will be the option for 8% of respondents.

Yellow, often linked to prosperity and money, is the choice of 6% of participants. Completing the ranking are red, black, pink and gold, each with 3% of mentions.

Sandra Mazal highlights that, although the Rio Summer year-end collection offers several color options, white still receives special focus. The tone is central in the looks designed specifically for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Celebrities such as Esther de Oliveira and Stephanie Durval posed in outfits that add glamour and style to the turn of the year. Their looks reinforce the elegance of white in festive productions.
