Alloro al Miramar opens on January 1 with reduced menu

For those in Rio de Janeiro on January 1 looking to dine out, Alloro al Miramar, the Italian restaurant at Miramar Hotel by Windsor, will open from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. The venue will serve both hotel guests and the general public with a special service and a reduced menu.

Chef Juliana Magioli will serve select dishes from her July menu, including Burrata with eggplant caponata and basil pesto – R$79 + tax; Scallop crudo with black garlic purée – R$110 + tax; and Italian sandwich with pulled pork and fennel mayonnaise – R$75 + tax.

Among the pasta dishes are Spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce – R$85 + tax; Creamy fregola with lamb ragout and mascarpone – R$110 + tax; and Seafood spaghetti with bisque sauce – R$190 + tax.

Main course highlights include Fish of the day with zucchini cream, mint, and black garlic purée – R$145 + tax; Filet mignon with mashed potatoes and demi glace – R$150 + tax; and Pork belly with peppers and baroa purée – R$130 + tax.

Desserts include Vanilla panna cotta with caramelized apples – R$52 + tax; Dark and white chocolate mousse – R$52 + tax; and Tiramisu entremet with coffee ganache – R$48 + tax.

Another option will be the Selection of Brazilian cheeses with homemade compote and native honey – R$98 + tax.

“Since we have regular customers who look for alternatives to the traditional holiday menus, we’ll offer a reduced selection with some of our most popular dishes,” explains Juliana Magioli.

About chef Juliana Magioli

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Juliana Magioli graduated in Gastronomy from Estácio de Sá University in 2015. She began at Le Pré Catelan, at the former Sofitel, and worked with renowned chefs such as Rolland Villard and Kaywa Hilton. She later joined Felipe Bronze’s Pipo and spent nearly seven years alongside Nello Cassese at Cipriani in the Belmond Copacabana Palace, where she became sous-chef and helped the restaurant earn a Michelin star in 2019.
