Duque de Caxias hosts the free Podrão Fair with a 3 kg burger, a famous fries classic, kids’ area, and a big-screen Supercopa final on Sunday
The 32nd edition of the Podrão fair runs Jan 30–31 and Feb 1 (Fri–Sun) at Praça Humaitá, in Jardim 25 de Agosto. Around 20 vendors are expected, and the event lands in a newly refurbished public square backed by the city government and its Tourism and Culture department.

Praça Humaitá now features a basketball court, a soccer field, a skate area, games, and community playground options. As a result, the festival blends street food with an outdoor hangout vibe designed for families and groups of friends.
On the menu, expect Brazilian street-food “classics,” including “Batata Frita de Marechal Hermes” (a well-known Rio suburb snack and officially recognized Cultural Heritage of the City of Rio de Janeiro), plus the “Hambúrguer de Três Quilos,” “Coxinha de Dois Quilos,” “Acarajé de Dois Quilos,” a “120-centimeter hot dog,” “Torre de Churros,” “Sorvete na Chapa,” and barbecue, among other choices.
“Hosting another edition of the Feira Nacional do Podrão in Duque de Caxias is always a joy—especially at Praça Humaitá, which has a brand-new look after a full renovation,” said Mayor Netinho Reis.
Organizer Suzanne Malta—creator of the @ondecomernorio profile—says the team is eager to bring the project back alongside producer Filipe Machado. Culture and Tourism Secretary Aroldo Brito also highlights the partnership and the goal of keeping the city’s streets and squares busy.
Music, kids’ zone, and Sunday big screen
Admission is Free. The festival sets aside a supervised kids’ area with inflatable attractions such as a mechanical bull, a large slide, discoplay, an inflatable alligator, trampolines, and bounce houses.
Music programming includes a DJ through the weekend, plus samba and pagode sets by Dez Mais and D’Início. The song selection leans on crowd favorites associated with acts like Exaltasamba, Raça Negra, Sorriso Maroto, Pixote, Belo, Art Popular, Katinguelê, Só Pra Contrariar, Revelação, Jorge Aragão, and Zeca Pagodinho.
On Sunday, a big-screen broadcast is planned for the Supercopa final: Flamengo vs. Corinthians.
