New Matteo Perini 2020 label celebrates the 2020 vintage, reinforcing Casa Perini’s family legacy and sophistication.
Casa Perini introduces its newest label: Matteo Perini 2020, a fine dry red wine named after the son of the winery’s director, Franco Perini. The launch highlights the brand’s family heritage and celebrates the 2020 harvest, considered by experts as the “vintage of vintages,” reflecting the winery’s excellence and tradition.
Family legacy and new generation inspiration
“It is a disruptive project that honors our ancestors’ legacy through the promise of the future born with the first child of the new generation. Matteo is loved by the whole family and was blessed to have the 2020 harvest, the vintage of vintages, as his first,” says Franco Perini, Chairman of Casa Perini’s Administrative Council. The embossed footprint on the bottle, inspired by Matteo’s newborn footprint, symbolizes this new beginning.
Refined blend and artisanal process
Matteo Perini 2020 is a blend of five red varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Merlot, Tannat, and Teroldego. It matured for 12 months in French and American oak barrels (except Merlot), was bottled in 2022, and aged another 36 months. Available in boxes of one or three bottles, it represents the winery’s most premium product to date.
Aromas, texture, and pairing
With an intense ruby-red color and garnet reflections, the wine features aromas of black fruits such as blueberry and plum, candied and dried fruits, floral notes, and spices. Subtle touches of cocoa, coffee, dried leaves, and mint complete its complexity. With a velvety texture and balanced acidity, it offers excellent aging potential.
Versatile and elegant, the wine pairs perfectly with meat or cured-meat risottos, pheasant or chicken, earthy vegetables like eggplant or mushrooms, and pasta with rich sauces. The blend’s sophistication reflects Casa Perini’s ongoing pursuit of excellence.
