Baleia Rio’s, perched in Rio de Janeiro’s Flamengo neighborhood, has just unveiled a new dining concept that makes Guanabara Bay as much a part of the meal as the food itself. The set menu, priced at R$ 190 per person, invites guests to build their own three-course experience — starter, main, and dessert — from a curated selection by chef Bruno Barros.

A résumé built in top kitchens

Bruno Barros honed his craft at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in London, then went on to work at Dom and Dalva e Dito, two landmark restaurants by celebrated Brazilian chef Alex Atala. That pedigree shows on every plate: precise technique, carefully sourced ingredients, and a contemporary take on Mediterranean cuisine with distinctly Brazilian touches.

The result is a menu that feels refined yet approachable — perfect for lingering over a long lunch or dinner with one of Rio’s most iconic backdrops framed through the window.
