With the heat arriving in Rio de Janeiro, diners are looking for lighter meals. Dida Bar e Restaurante, a reference in Afro-Brazilian cuisine, launches a summer menu featuring tropical flavors, bright colors, and combinations that bring freshness and identity to the table.
Flavors that define the season
Led by chef Dida Nascimento, the restaurant highlights the Shrimp Curry (R$ 70.00), sautéed shrimp served inside a pineapple with white rice and dendê farofa. The fruit gives the dish a tropical aroma and freshness, ideal for summer days.
Other light options include the Leek Quiche and the Chicken Pocket, both served with mixed greens and house dressing, offering balanced, flavorful meals.
Executive menu and refreshing drinks
The popular Executive Menu reflects the house’s tradition of affordable Afro-Brazilian gastronomy. For R$ 50.00 per person, the rotating weekly menu includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert such as soft cocada or spoon brigadeiro.
Fresh cocktails feature prominently too. Highlights include the Dawa da Casa (gin, iced mate, Tahiti lime, and ginger foam – R$ 28.00), the traditional Tocaju (cachaça, cashew juice, lime, and cashew preserve – R$ 35.00), and the exotic Nala (pitaya, mint, watermelon vodka, and Sicilian lemon – R$ 33.00).
Desserts and culture combined
For dessert, favorites include Brownie with Ice Cream and the House Dessert, made with grilled banana, curd cheese, ice cream, and molasses (R$ 24.00 each).
