Wine Group’s Cibele Siqueira highlights the excellence of Brazilian sparkling wines and suggests labels for holiday pairings.
With the festive season approaching, sparkling wines take center stage in Brazilian celebrations. Data from Ideal BI shows that 81.5% of the volume and 71% of the value consumed in Brazil come from national wines. According to Cibele Siqueira, Wine Group’s Brand Ambassador, this trend reflects the maturity of the country’s wine industry and the global recognition of its quality.
“Brazilian sparkling wines prove that the country masters excellence in production and has overcome old stereotypes. It’s a joy to see our wines shining both in everyday life and special celebrations,” says Cibele.
Eight reasons to go Brazilian
1. Global recognition. Brazilian sparklings win medals in top international competitions, such as the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, where the country earned nine awards in 2025.
2. Great value. Local production minimizes transport and import costs, offering high-quality wines at more accessible prices.
3. Freshness guaranteed. Proximity between vineyards and consumers ensures vibrant acidity and aromatic intensity.
4. Style diversity. From Brut and Rosé to Nature and Moscatel, Brazil has options for every taste and pairing.
5. Unique terroirs. Regions like Serra Gaúcha and Vale do São Francisco offer diverse climates and soil conditions ideal for premium sparkle production.
6. Modern production. Brazilian wineries invest in technology and classic methods such as Champenoise and Charmat.
7. Local impact. Choosing national wines supports producers, strengthens the economy and encourages wine tourism.
8. Tropical personality. Fresh, vibrant and perfectly adapted to Brazilian cuisine, these wines pair beautifully with local festive dishes.
Suggested wines for Christmas
Cibele recommends the Maraví line from Wine Group’s “Entre Dois Mundos” collection, developed with Miolo and produced in Bahia’s Vale do São Francisco. The line features three labels: Brut, Brut Rosé and Moscatel.
The award-winning Maraví Brut Rosé pairs perfectly with turkey, salmon and pork dishes. Maraví Brut complements traditional Christmas meals like roasted turkey and salted cod. Maraví Moscatel is ideal for pairing with desserts such as panettone, fruit tarts and tropical mousses.
