Feira do Podrão kicks off summer at Carioca Shopping

Feira Nacional do Podrão opens 2026 season at Carioca Shopping, January 16–18, with 30 vendors, kids’ area and iconic Rio street food.

The Feira do Podrão joins Carioca Shopping’s Summer program and launches the 2026 season of the Feira Nacional do Podrão in Rio’s North Zone. The 32nd edition of the event takes place from January 16 to 18, Friday through Sunday, at Terraço Carioca (G5), in Vila da Penha.

A major crowd favorite, the Feira Nacional do Podrão brings together around 30 vendors across five thousand square meters. The area offers comfort, security and a dedicated kids’ zone, reaffirming the fair as one of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic street food events.

Feira do Podrão street food classics

The Feira do Podrão line-up features beloved street food classics. Highlights include the famous “Batata Frita de Marechal Hermes”, a symbol of Rio’s suburbs and listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the City of Rio de Janeiro, alongside the renowned “Hambúrguer de Três Quilos”, “Coxinha de Dois Quilos”, “Churrasco”, “Acarajé de Dois Quilos”, “Cachorro-Quente de 120 centímetros”, “Torre de Churros” and “Sorvete na Chapa”.

Visitors will also find new treats that match the summer heat, such as “Picolé de Pudim” and “Sorvete de Nitrogênio”, created to refresh the city’s sunniest season.

2026 season at Carioca Shopping

“We are very excited to open the 2026 season of the Feira Nacional do Podrão at Carioca Shopping, welcoming the lively crowd from the North Zone. We are betting on the perfect duo: great food and fun for the whole family!”, says Suzanne Malta, creator and promoter of the project and digital influencer behind the @ondecomernorio profile, alongside her partner in the venture, architect and producer Filipe.

After the success of the first edition held in January 2025, the Feira do Podrão returns to the mall, now kicking off the celebrations for Carioca Shopping’s 25th anniversary. “The fair comes as another leisure option for the vacation period, reinforcing our commitment to offering the best entertainment and experiences for our customers,” highlights Carioca Shopping’s marketing manager, Michelle Coutinho.

Kids’ area and music lineup

The Feira do Podrão at Carioca Shopping will feature a dedicated kids’ entertainment area with a team of monitors, ensuring safe fun for children. There will also be a cotton candy stand and several attractions, including a mechanical bull, large slide, Discoplay ride, inflatable alligator, trampoline and inflatable bounce house.

The music lineup keeps the party going all weekend long, with a DJ, samba circle and pagode performances, adding to the summer atmosphere in Rio’s North Zone.
