Hawaiian roots of poke in Brazil

Poke emerged in 1970s Hawaii, drawing from Japan’s 1960s chirashi sushi. Fishermen mixed fish cuts with rice, seaweed, and sauces like Tonkatsu or Ponzu. The word means “to slice” in Hawaiian.

Inmet forecasts above-average temperatures through March. Heatwave lingers since December, with neutral El Niño and low La Niña odds. Rainfall shows regional variability.
