The Kaipú Chardonnay 2023, produced in the Campanha Gaúcha region (RS), received a gold medal at the Sélections Mondiales des Vins, one of North America’s most relevant wine competitions. The event took place from October 8 to 11 in Montréal, Québec, and is the only competition on the continent sponsored by VINOFED and the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV).

The award-winning label is part of the Kaipú line, developed by the Entre Dois Mundos project, a partnership between Grupo Wine, Brazil’s number one wine group, and the Miolo Group.

“Since its launch, Kaipu Chardonnay has become a favorite across Brazil. It has a delicate and citrus profile with good acidity. Its brief oak aging adds a subtle vanilla note and light creaminess,” says Cibele Siqueira, Brand Ambassador for Authorial Wines at Grupo Wine.

Produced in Santana do Livramento (RS), the Kaipú line includes Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Tannat. The wines are 100% gaúcho and undergo barrel aging, a distinction within their value category.

The 2025 edition of the Canadian competition gathered more than 1,550 products from 26 countries, evaluated by 12 panels of winemakers, journalists and industry specialists. Only 30% of the wines receive medals, and gold is awarded to those scoring between 89 and 92 points.

Another label from the same project, the Maraví Brut Rosé sparkling wine, produced in the São Francisco Valley (BA), also received a gold medal at the 14th Brazilian Sparkling Wine Competition, organized by the Brazilian Association of Enology (ABE).

With the success of Kaipú and Maraví, the Entre Dois Mundos project strengthens the advance of Brazilian winemaking, combining tradition, different terroirs and authorial labels that express the best of two regions.
