The arrival of Collection Impériale Création Nº 1 in Brazil signals a significant moment for Moët & Chandon, as the Maison brings one of its most ambitious creations to the country. Developed to celebrate its 280th anniversary, the cuvée is being introduced through a series of curated events led by Marie-Christine Osselin, Head of Wine Experience and Oenology.
With stops in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Goiânia, the initiative goes beyond tastings, offering an immersive perspective into Haute Oenology — the philosophy that defines the house’s expertise across generations.
ive perspective into Haute Oenology — the philosophy that defines the house’s expertise across generations.A blend shaped by time
The Collection Impériale Création Nº 1 is crafted from seven distinct vintages: 2013, 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2000, and 2004. Each component is aged using different methods, resulting in a layered and multidimensional champagne.
This brut nature cuvée contains no added sugar, emphasizing purity and precision. The interplay of vintages delivers freshness, structure, and aromatic depth in equal measure.
At the center of this composition is Cellar Master Benoît Gouez, whose approach balances youth and maturity in a single expression.
The meaning of Haute Oenology
Haute Oenology represents Moët & Chandon’s philosophy of combining technical mastery with artistic intuition. The concept reflects decades of refinement in vineyard selection, aging techniques, and blending expertise.
The Maison’s extensive reserve wine library plays a central role in this process, allowing access to a wide spectrum of vintages and styles. This depth enables the creation of highly precise and expressive blends.
The cuvée also connects to the house’s historical ties to Napoleon Bonaparte, reinforcing the “Imperial” identity that has defined the brand since the 19th century.
Tasting profile and experience
The champagne reveals a deep golden hue. Aromatically, it evolves from mineral and toasted notes into layers of hazelnut, vanilla, and ripe fruits such as dried fig and Mirabelle plum.
On the palate, it delivers a balance between richness and freshness. Its creamy effervescence supports a structure that ends in a long, smoky and slightly licorice-driven finish.
“Collection Impériale Création Nº 1 reflects Moët & Chandon’s savoir-faire and our vision of celebration.”
Brazil as a strategic stage
The Brazilian program includes curated experiences with professionals and guests. In São Paulo, events began at Evvai, followed by exclusive dinners. In Rio de Janeiro, the gathering takes place at Madame Olympe, while Goiânia hosts its edition at Famu.
The launch also marks the beginning of a long-term project leading up to Moët & Chandon’s 300th anniversary in 2043, with future editions of the Collection Impériale to be released over time.
