Pastel de Nata is now gelato: Ofner unveils new gelato and sorbetto flavors for summer, including Sicilian lemon with lemongrass.
For the season, Ofner is framing its summer campaign as a flavor-driven “trip” through iconic warm-weather destinations. Brazil and Portugal take center stage in the lineup, which the brand says is crafted with Italian artisanal technique and carefully selected ingredients.
Gelato vs. sorbetto: what to expect
In Ofner’s description, gelato is the creamier, velvety option, made with fresh cream. The idea is a balanced dessert with a smooth texture and slower melt, delivering more intense flavor with each spoonful.
Sorbetto, on the other hand, goes for brightness and instant refreshment. The brand notes it contains no cream, relying on water, fruit, and a touch of sugar in some flavors, making it a lighter pick for hotter days.
The headline flavor: Pastel de Nata Gelato
One of the key launches is Pastel de Nata Gelato, a new flavor inspired by Portugal’s iconic custard tart. Built on a nata base, it blends the tart’s signature cream with caramelized puff pastry pieces, translating a classic dessert into a frozen, memory-forward experience.
Sicilian Lemon & Lemongrass Sorbetto
Another standout is the Sicilian Lemon with Lemongrass Sorbetto. Ofner presents it as 100% natural and vegan, pairing bright citrus acidity with the gentle aroma of lemongrass for a clean, balanced finish.
Classics, twists, and zero-sugar options
The summer menu also brings back well-known favorites and modern takes, such as Pistacchio Di Bronti, Cioccolato Belga, Vaniglia, and Yogurt All’Amarena. Additional choices include Doce de Leite Gelato and Fragola Sorbetto.
For different dietary preferences, the brand highlights zero sugar selections like Coconut and Mango with Passion Fruit, expanding the range without losing the seasonal, fruit-forward vibe.
