L’Oréal Paris® has introduced Elseve Collagen Lifter as Elseve’s first release of the year in Brazil, aiming at a frequent concern—especially for fine, thinning strands: loss of hair mass and volume. The idea is to bring a skincare-famous ingredient into hair science, promising airy lift without stiffness.

According to studies conducted by L’Oréal Paris®, perceived hair mass is closely tied to fiber diameter. In other words, even with the same number of strands, thinner hair occupies less space and can look flatter and less full. The brand also notes that thinning may be genetic, but it can worsen over time due to aging, chemical treatments, hormonal changes, or nutritional deficiencies.

What the collagen-inspired tech adds

Using microscopic analysis of hair and scalp, the brand’s scientists report that roughly 4 millimeters below the surface, the hair bulb is naturally surrounded by a collagen sheath—described as structural support that helps strengthen the fiber from within. That insight led to a wrap made with collagen peptides designed to bond well with the hair strand.

Elseve describes the result as an “exoskeleton” effect that supports hair from roots to ends, aiming for longer-lasting volume with a lightweight feel. The promise is more density and body without heaviness or rigidity.

“Elseve Collagen Lifter […] focuses on the needs of Brazilian consumers who want fuller hair without stiffness or weight, and effective solutions for density loss and thinning.”

The statement comes from Victor Ribas, Marketing Director for Hair Care at L’Oréal Paris® in Brazil, highlighting a performance-driven approach aligned with everyday needs.

Line-up, prices, and test claims

The Elseve Collagen Lifter range includes four products: Shampoo Encorpador Elseve Collagen Lifter (R$ 19,99), Condicionador Redensifica Fios (R$ 38,29), Tratamento Efeito Teia (Resgate de Massa) (R$ 39,89), and Creme para Pentear Volume sem Frizz (R$ 53,59).

According to the brand, results were assessed in a quantitative test with 329 women aged 18 to 55. Reported outcomes include 98% saying hair felt immediately fuller, 97% noticing reconstructed density, and 99% perceiving strands as lighter and healthier, alongside more volume and a “mass” feel, with better performance than their usual routine.

The line is already available across major drugstores, supermarkets, beauty retailers, and e-commerce platforms in Brazil. More information: https://www.loreal-paris.com.br/cuidados-com-o-cabelo/elseve/collagen-lifter/
