The Brazilian icon celebrates his 80th birthday with the “80 Girassóis” tour, debuting March 14 at Rio’s Farmasi Arena.
Still bursting with vibrant energy, Alceu Valença launches his 80 Girassóis tour to mark eight decades of life and over fifty years of music. The celebration starts in Rio de Janeiro on March 14 and will visit ten major Brazilian cities throughout the first semester.
Produced by PECK and MV Produções, with Banco do Brasil as main sponsor, the project also features an art exhibition and a film showcase in selected cities. The setlist revives timeless hits such as “Anunciação,” “Tropicana,” and “Belle de Jour,” which count hundreds of millions of plays on streaming platforms.
“I’m an eternal boy. I feel like I’m eighty reversed—maybe eight. My mission is to bring joy to people,” says Alceu.
On stage, Valença will be joined by Tovinho, Cássio Cunha, Zi Ferreira, Nando Barreto, André Julião, and Costinha, with special guests Lui Coimbra and Natalia Mitre. Visual identity is by Oblíquo, costumes by Isabela Capeto, and art direction by Radiográfico.
