Anitta’s childhood photo in a dress made of coffee cups is the cover of “Pinterest,” her new single arriving on streaming platforms this Thursday (05).
A cover straight from childhood
The artwork for “Pinterest” tells a story before the music even plays. Anitta chose a photo of herself at around 10 years old, wearing a handmade outfit crafted by her mother from small plastic coffee cups — a costume she wore to compete in the Desfile da Primavera, a local spring parade in her Rio de Janeiro neighborhood.
“The cover of ‘Pinterest’ brings back the look I wore to the Spring Parade when I was 10 years old. My mom made that outfit for me, out of little coffee cups. In this song I reveal a more vulnerable side — more Larissa, you know? That’s why we brought back that photo.” — Anitta
From Carnival stages to COLORSxSTUDIOS
Anitta first performed “Pinterest” live during the Ensaios da Anitta, her pre-Carnival concert series that draws massive crowds every year. On Monday (02), at 2 PM Brazil time, the song gets another spotlight: an intimate session for A COLORSxSTUDIOS, the globally recognized YouTube channel known for stripping artists down to their most authentic performances.
The studio version hits all major streaming platforms on Thursday, March 05.
Samba, MPB, and the “Equilibrium” album
Rooted in the sounds of samba and MPB — quintessentially Brazilian genres — “Pinterest” signals a more introspective chapter for the artist. The track is expected to be part of her upcoming album, “Equilibrium”, whose release date has not yet been announced.
