The Japanese trio returns to Brazil on November 28 at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo, following a landmark Top 10 entry on the Billboard 200 with METAL FORTH.
Fox Day brings the announcement
Every April 1st in Japan — a date BABYMETAL fans know as Fox Day — marks a new era for the group. It is when SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and MOMOMETAL reveal their most ambitious plans. This year, the announcement confirmed a return to Brazil: one night only on November 28 at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo.
The fox symbol runs deep in the band’s mythology. In Japanese folklore, foxes are divine messengers capable of crossing dimensions and bridging distant worlds — a fitting metaphor for a band that has spent over a decade breaking every musical boundary imaginable.
First Japanese band in the Billboard 200 Top 10
In 2025, the group released METAL FORTH, which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 — making BABYMETAL the first all-Japanese act to break into the Top 10 of America’s most prestigious chart. From that record, “RATATATA” featuring German duo Electric Callboy and “from me to u” with Poppy together surpass 150 million streams on Spotify.
Combined, the band has accumulated over 3 billion streams across audio platforms, sustained by a global fanbase whose devotion knows no geographic limits.
Kawaii metal: cuteness with a crushing edge
The playful aesthetics of kawaii metal — the genre BABYMETAL invented by fusing heavy metal aggression with J-Pop melodies — can be disarming at first glance. But once the trio takes the stage, precision vocals and tightly choreographed performances turn every arena into a full-sensory experience. Songs like “Gimme Chocolate!!”, “Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!”, and “Pa Pa Ya!!” are sung back in full-throated unison, in Japanese, by fans from every corner of the globe.
Metal legends including Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Robert Halford (Judas Priest), and Gary Holt (Slayer) have all praised the band publicly. Collaborations with Tom Morello and Bring Me The Horizon further cemented their standing in the heavy music world.
BABYMETAL can already be considered one of the biggest names in heavy metal today
A career built on historic firsts
Among the band’s many milestones: a headline performance at Wembley Arena in the UK — unprecedented for a Japanese artist — and METAL GALAXY (2019) topping the Billboard Rock and Hard Rock Albums chart. The trio continues to headline major festivals including the Download Festival and Pinkpop.
Their first visit to Brazil came in October 2024, with a performance at Knotfest Brasil and a sold-out night at Audio in São Paulo. The November 2026 return is once again produced by 30e, Brazil’s largest live entertainment company, with Itaú Unibanco as the official bank through its music platform Itaú Live.
