Brazilian group Benzadeus releases the first EP from the DVD “Na Rota do Benza no Pelô”, featuring the single “Engajamento” and celebrating a Multishow 2025 Award nomination.
At the peak of their career, Benzadeus announces their new EP “Na Rota do Benza no Pelô”, available on digital platforms from December 5. The lead track is the original “Engajamento”, a collaboration with J. Eskine blending pagode and arrocha in a fun, romantic, and modern sound.
Written by Lary, Juan Marcus, Elias Mafra, Dan Ferrera, and J. Eskine, the song offers a humorous and lighthearted take on relationships in the digital age. The five-track EP includes new and re-recorded songs: “Engajamento” (feat. J. Eskine), “Era Uma Vez”, “Quando a Chuva Passar”, “Chama o Bombeiro / História pro Sinhôzinho / Capoeira” (feat. Escandurras), and “Modo Ioiô”, featuring Olodum.
According to the group, this release captures the spirit of the Pelourinho recording. “This EP carries the soul of that night at Pelô. We wanted people to feel the same chills we had when 10,000 voices sang with us. Each track holds a piece of that unforgettable night,” the band shared.
The EP launch comes just before another achievement: Benzadeus is nominated for the Multishow 2025 Award in the Brazil category, representing the pagode genre and the Midwest region. “Being nominated is an incredible honor. Representing our region in such a major award is huge for us,” said members Magrão, Vini, Das Sortes, Neném, and Pedigree.
Benzadeus’ Journey
Formed in Brasília in late 2020, Benzadeus brings freshness and emotion to pagode, creating a modern identity while maintaining the genre’s essence. The group gained national recognition with the DVD “Benza Em Brasa”, surpassing 16 million streams, followed by works like “Assume” (with Kamisa 10), “Ao Vivo no Brazólia”, “After do Benza”, and the hit “Papel de Otário” (with Milthinho).
In 2024, the group continued to grow with the EP “Energia Benzadeus” and the DVD “Pagode no Parque”, recorded in Brasília. Artists such as Péricles, Thiaguinho, Bruno Cardoso, and Ferrugem have praised Benzadeus as one of today’s leading pagode acts.
