From November 12 to 23, Blue Note Rio presents a special lineup honoring Black Awareness Month, featuring artists from Brazil, South Africa, Cameroon, Mozambique and the United States. The program celebrates the power and influence of Black music across borders.
The lineup includes Áurea Martins, Fi Bueno & Sandra Sá, Joabe Reis, SIKI JO-AN, Irma, Lenna Bahule, Impossible Odds & The Odds Band and Gustavo Boná, transforming the Copacabana venue into a global stage for musical exchange and celebration.
Highlights of the Program
Nov 12 – Fi Bueno feat. Sandra Sá Opening night with soul and groove, featuring the duo’s new single “Menina da Pompéia” from Fi Bueno’s upcoming album.
Nov 13 – SIKI JO-AN (South Africa) Known from The Voice South Africa, SIKI JO-AN brings her show “Intimate Concert with the African Queen” — a mix of iconic African songs and original tracks.
Nov 14 – Irma (Cameroon/France) The acclaimed artist performs You and My Guitar, blending pop and soul with songs from her upcoming album House of Cards.
Nov 20 – Áurea Martins sings Johnny Alf A heartfelt tribute to one of Bossa Nova’s founding figures, featuring timeless classics like “Eu e a Brisa” and “Ilusão à Toa”.
Nov 20 – Joabe Reis & Soul Train Experience An energetic show inspired by the legendary TV program, celebrating funk, soul and R&B legends such as Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.
Nov 21 – Lenna Bahule (Mozambique) The Mozambican vocalist and body percussionist presents “From the East Onward”, a performance merging African roots and contemporary sounds.
Nov 21 – Impossible Odds & The Odds Band (USA) Brooklyn artist Andy Blanc blends jazz, hip-hop and dynamic movement in a powerful performance that transcends genres.
Nov 23 – Gustavo Boná (Brazil) The Voice Brasil finalist performs “Peito Aberto”, revisiting MPB classics by Milton Nascimento, Maria Bethânia and Chico Buarque.
