Brasil Jazz Sinfônica Big Band takes the stage at Blue Note São Paulo on February 7 (Saturday) for a special concert titled Brasil in Jazz. Conducted by maestro Gustavo Petri, the program is presented in two sets, at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., spotlighting Brazilian popular music through the punchy sound of a big band.

From samba to baião and bossa nova, the show revisits classics from different eras with refined harmonies, driving rhythms, and room for improvisation. The result keeps the Brazilian pulse intact while adding bold jazz colors on stage.

The setlist brings together composers across generations, including Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Tom Jobim, Noel Rosa, Baden Powell, and Vinicius de Moraes. Confirmed highlights include “The Girl from Ipanema,” “Orfeu’s Frevo,” “Sítio do Pica-Pau Amarelo,” and “Lília.”
