Brazil wins gold, silver and bronze at the Hip Hop United World Championships 2025 in Prague, showing talent and determination.
Brazil shone on the global urban dance stage by earning all three medals at the Hip Hop United World Championships 2025, held in late October in Prague, Czech Republic. The event, one of the most important on the international hip hop calendar, brought together top groups and dancers from 20 countries.
Representing the country, the Brazilian Federation LIBRAF (Brazilian League of Aerobic and Fitness Gymnastics/Hip Hop) showcased the strength of national hip hop by reaching the podium three times in different categories. The highlight was the Junior Duo category, where Gustav Raduenz and Ana Fronza Guimarães, from Timbó (SC), won the gold medal.
The dancers are part of the Andreia Mendes School, known for training and supporting new talents. In addition, the same school achieved the silver medal in the Junior Small Crew category with an eight-member group, reinforcing Santa Catarina’s prominence and the strength of Brazil’s new dance generation.
Completing Brazil’s podium, the DRA group from Ilhabela (SP), formed by Kleber Moreira and Camila Oliveira, took bronze in the Master Duo category. Thus, Brazilian hip hop demonstrated excellence across different age groups and regions.
Recognition and new directions for Brazilian hip hop
The president of the Brazilian Federation/LIBRAF, Professor Cláudio Franzen, celebrated the achievement and announced the preparation for the 2026 national qualifiers, which will select the teams to represent Brazil at the next world championship.
“After 25 years of work within the dance and hip hop school network, Brazil has reached maturity. It was a long process of awareness and training for teachers and dancers. Now, with this historic victory, I believe a new level begins for Brazilian hip hop,” said Franzen.
He also highlighted the resilience of the dancers from Santa Catarina, who could not attend last year’s world championship due to lack of resources, after heavy rains affected the state and left many families homeless.
The historic result in Prague reinforces the growth and international recognition of Brazilian urban dance, inspiring new generations and strengthening the country’s presence among the world’s hip hop powers.
