After wowing crowds in Georgia, Juliana Moretto joins Los Castillos to record a DVD in Paraguay and reimagine a Polo Montañez classic.
Brazilian singer Juliana Moretto is on a remarkable international run. With over 7 million views across digital platforms and nearly 500,000 followers, she now sets her sights on Paraguay with a bold artistic vision: reimagining the Cuban classic “Un Montón de Estrellas” by Polo Montañez as a guarania, the traditional Paraguayan rhythm.
The announcement follows a triumphant performance in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she received a standing ovation. That cross-cultural momentum is precisely what inspired Moretto to explore the guarania as a new home for Montañez’s timeless melody.
Joining Forces with Los Castillos
The creative concept caught the attention of Los Castillos, highly sought-after producers known for their work with Brazilian icons Chitãozinho & Xororó, Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, and Roberta Miranda. The group not only embraced the idea but invited Moretto to be part of their upcoming DVD recording.
The session takes place on March 6, during the anniversary celebrations of Villeta, Paraguay. Beyond her guarania rendition, Moretto will share the stage for a special duet of “Como la Flor” — immortalized by Selena — alongside harpist Lucero Ovelar, a member of Los Castillos.
“I am deeply honored to be part of a project by such renowned producers. The idea of bringing the guarania to this song was something I felt very strongly, and seeing it turn into an invitation for their DVD is a dream. My connection to Latin music comes from dance and from the heart.” — Juliana Moretto
