Singer-songwriter Brenda Umbelino releases the music video for “Meu Dengo” on January 16, available across digital platforms. The song is part of ÂMAGO, her first full original album and her official introduction to Brazil’s music scene.
Directed by Júpiter Toepper, the video turns the track’s affection, surrender, and softness into imagery. With a strong sensory and aesthetic pull, it aligns with the album’s intimate atmosphere and uses gesture, movement, and the body as emotional language.
Dancer Valentina Mendes leads the visual narrative, heightening the song’s themes of care, belonging, and vulnerability. As a result, dance becomes the conduit that carries the music’s tenderness into a physical, cinematic form.
Inside ÂMAGO
Released recently, ÂMAGO brings together six unreleased tracks shaped as a circular listening experience—one that begins, ends, and begins again. The title functions as a statement of intent: “the most intimate or fundamental part of something or someone.”
The journey opens with “Brotos,” about the birth of winding yet spontaneous paths. From there, the album moves through themes such as luck, misfortune, devotion, peace, love, restlessness, and farewell, before returning symbolically to the starting point and inviting constant “reblooming.”
Collective arrangements
With affectionate lyricism, subtle satire, and a clear conversation with Brazilian rhythms, Brenda Umbelino turns personal experiences into everyday poetry. The album’s collective arrangements were built with Bruno Seitras (acoustic guitar), Vini França (tenor sax and recorder), Leonardo Sá (drums), and Caio Schissatti (piano).
Recording, mixing, and mastering were handled by Lucas Vilarinho. Beyond the album, ÂMAGO will also receive a video session made with OVYAYVU, a collective focused on strengthening independent artists, with release planned for later this January.
