In March, the 12th Música em Trancoso Festival unites Carlinhos Brown, Vanessa da Mata and Orquestra Ouro Preto in concerts blending art, culture and social impact.
From March 11 to 14, 2026, Música em Trancoso returns to southern Bahia, reaffirming its place as one of Brazil’s most renowned cultural events. On the Teatro L’Occitane stage, Orquestra Ouro Preto performs alongside musical icons Carlinhos Brown and Vanessa da Mata in a celebration of diversity and the transformative power of art.
Three unforgettable nights
The festival opens on March 12 with “The Beatles,” a symphonic tribute that fuses classical strings with rock energy. On March 13, Vanessa da Mata takes the stage to reinterpret beloved hits like “Boa Sorte/Good Luck” and “Ai, Ai, Ai…” in orchestral arrangements. The final night, March 14, features Carlinhos Brown’s “Afrossinfonicidade,” merging Bahian percussion with orchestral grandeur in a vibrant collective celebration.
Culture and inclusion
Beyond the main concerts, the festival promotes free cultural outreach, including performances by the ECOAR Youth Orchestra and IASA in Trancoso’s historic Quadrado, and the Church Circuit, which brings music to Caraíva, Itaporanga, Vale Verde and Arraial d’Ajuda. The new “Gramado” section, with affordable tickets, reinforces the festival’s mission to democratize access to culture and boost the local creative economy.
“Art has the power to boost tourism and education, driving local development,” says Sérgio Mehlen, artistic director of Música em Trancoso Festival.
For over a decade, the festival has bridged artistic excellence and social transformation, proving that cultural access is also an investment in community and the future.
