Five years, one milestone edition

Cidade Junina is celebrating its fifth edition with an ambitious lineup and an immersive cultural experience. Running from May 23 to July 4, 2026, the festival takes place at naCidade Junina — Rua Gabriela de Melo s/n, Olhos D’água neighborhood, Belo Horizonte — across seven weekends of live music, traditional food, and scenographic entertainment.

The anniversary theme, “5 stars of joy, 5 years of history, endless encounters,” pays homage to classic Brazilian June Festival songs and the emotional bond forged with audiences over half a decade. The event is produced by naSala, Nenety Eventos, and Badaladinha.

A lineup that spans generations

The opening night, on May 23, pays tribute to Brazilian roots music. Legendary artists Zé Ramalho and Elba Ramalho will perform a night of forró, poetry, and MPB — celebrating the classics that have shaped generations of Brazilian music lovers.

On May 30, romance takes center stage as Belo and Dilsinho deliver an unforgettable night of romantic samba and pagode. Then, on June 5, the festival shifts gears with Pedro Sampaio, Teto, and Wiu bringing funk and trap to the stage.

June 6 is Rock Day, featuring the Jack Rock Bar experience — a nod to the festival’s musical diversity. On June 13, piseiro superstar João Gomes headlines a night dedicated to the new wave of Northeastern Brazilian music. June 27 belongs to Falamansa and the beloved forró universitário sound, while the closing night on July 4 will be a grand finale with Xand Avião and Mari Fernandez.

“Reaching the fifth edition of Cidade Junina is a very special milestone for us. To celebrate this history, we have prepared a lineup that reflects the grandeur of the event, bringing together legends of our music, such as Zé Ramalho and Elba Ramalho, and the biggest current stars, like João Gomes, Xand Avião, and Mari Fernandez. Together with Nenety Eventos and Badaladinha, we thought carefully about each act to ensure unforgettable nights, embracing musical diversity and moving audiences of all ages who come to experience the magic of our scenographic city.” — Kiko Gravatá, naSala manager

The Cidadezinha: family fun beyond the stage

Beyond the concerts, Cidade Junina recreates the warm atmosphere of a small Brazilian interior town. The scenographic space features streets, squares, a little church, and a Ferris wheel. The Cidadezinha — the daytime family program — offers quadrilha dance performances, storytelling sessions, workshops, and traditional games, making the event truly intergenerational.

Traditional June Festival gastronomy is also a central element of the experience. Over five years, Cidade Junina has grown into one of Belo Horizonte’s top cultural events, drawing visitors from across Brazil.
