On April 16 at 8 PM, São Paulo’s Sesc 24 de Maio welcomes celebrated Brazilian singer Claudya for a night that bridges the sophistication of 1970s MPB with contemporary energy. Her tour, Deixa Eu Dizer (“Let Me Say”), honors six decades of one of Brazilian popular music’s most enduring voices.

Landmark albums return on vinyl

The project centers on the reissue of two landmark records: Jesus Cristo (1971) and Deixa Eu Dizer (1973), both now available on vinyl. These albums defined Claudya’s creative peak within MPB — Brazil’s genre-blending popular music movement — and are now reaching new generations of listeners.

The title track “Deixa Eu Dizer” is a cornerstone of the setlist. The song found renewed relevance in 2008 when rapper Marcelo D2 sampled it, introducing Claudya to a younger audience connected to Brazilian hip-hop.

Nine live musicians and brand-new arrangements

Claudya takes the stage with nine live musicians. New arrangements by Alexandre Vianna give the classics a fresh sonic layer while preserving their emotional core. Artistic direction is by Graziela Medori.

The show is not simply an exercise in nostalgia. It is a statement about the enduring power of Claudya’s artistry and the living relevance of MPB as a musical language that continues to evolve.
