Blending ‘90s raw rock and modern pop, Culture Wars’ “Don’t Speak” aims to bring guitars back to the big arenas.
Texas-based trio Culture Wars has announced their highly anticipated debut album, “Don’t Speak”, set for April 10 via AWAL, home to Laufey and Djo. The record showcases the band’s signature energy, combining nostalgic rock textures with contemporary production.
Across 12 tracks, the album moves between surf rock and shimmering ‘80s synths, capturing the balance between authenticity and cinematic polish. Its layered guitars and organic recordings highlight the band’s mission to revive the live spirit of rock music.
Among the standouts is “In The Morning”, an introspective reflection on loneliness and connection. Vocalist Alex Dugan describes it as “a song about trying to convince someone to come over and make you feel less alone.” The track’s production shaped the lineup’s direction for the entire record.
Before the official release, nine songs had already dropped, racking up millions of plays. “Typical Ways” has over 13 million streams, and “It Hurts” peaked within the U.S. alternative radio Top 20.
Following their 2021 EP teche, the band toured extensively, sharing stages with Maroon 5, LANY, and Keane. Now, they are ready for a new North American and Mexican tour to celebrate the album’s arrival.
With “Don’t Speak”, Culture Wars delivers their most ambitious project to date, reaffirming their mission to bring guitar-driven rock back into the spotlight.
